About Rosemont

In the adventures of Mable Swiftwind, we will be touring a place called Rosemont. This page will be actively updated as more things are found out about the region. Most maps and more detailed information will be found on Mable's Farmer Almanac for ease of trying to keep everything in one place.

For now, the following is some information regarding the town that I put together by using the donjon fantasy generator as well as some lore from the time my players went through here.

Rosemont

Population: 1,100

Governance: Mayor Hoewick

Cultures: A good mix of halfling, half-elven, Dwarven, Beastfolk, and a couple of good-natured orcs descended from the clan of Kansif the Spine Snapper.

Military: A small group of rangers and volunteer adventurers to patrol the town as sometimes wild things come up from the darker parts of the forest.

About the Town: Rosemont was built by the hands of survivors coming out of Whispering Willow, a few years after the incident known as “The Day of Karzush”. Fifty years on, the small town has grown since it is relatively safe despite there being a greater need for more governance and safety. Dark things still arise from the forest surrounding the town.

Trade Goods: Rosemont Wine is the best wine anywhere within the region of Ulnas Doth. Barrells of the stuff are exported to lands even further afield such as the Sezukhan Empire and as far as the City of Daggers in Val’hamuut’s Rest. There is also a bustling economy around florals and embroidery.

Starting in this town:

When you begin your journeys in the town of Rosemont, you will be going there with the knowledge that a family member or mentor left you a plot of land to call your own. This is a great location for people wanting a “cottage-core fantasy world completed with unicorns”, and “cozy-gaming” D&D solo run-through. Think wholesome but with swords, sorcery, and resource management.

When visiting this town:

If you’re just visiting this town, just to visit, you have the option of joining the town’s local rangers to patrol and protect the town to stay free at the local Guildhall in your own suite. Rosemont is in such a location where various herbs, fauna, and flora used in potion-making are highly coveted. This area is also steeped in lore and legend since it is so close to the Darkwood, the Sunken Hills, and a natural stop over by the Elven rangers coming out of Fort Fides to the north.

Foot Notes.
  • The Day of Karzush marked the time a blight hag rolled into the town of Whispering Willow and basically corrupted it. The players of that particular game had a rough go dealing with the hag and though they came out victorious, it was a tough call and win.
