Artaelia Solo Session Set Up
Setting up my solo sessions, I decided to follow some of the advice on Dnd Solo. This led me to create my own set up.
First, I created my character on DND Beyond due to ease of character creation, the fact I can print out the character sheet when I finish AND the ease of looking up various monsters, equipment, potential NPC stats and the Encounter Builder have been a godsend.
Second, I started with figuring out what kind of Oracles I wanted to use to help me play the game. That led me to Oracle RPG and the various tables on Kobold Press and DND Speak as well as the Ironsworn games system. If you want to spend some moola, Mything GM Emulator is highly recommended as well.
Third, I was stuck between running a module solo and just exploring a location and using only oracles. For one character I made to test this - I decided to check out Icewindale. It worked out great. I found wraiths despite making some companion characters to journey with.
The second time I ran this - I ran into a unicorn just by using the random oracles to create my game. It's been amazing so far.
Last, I'm making my notes by hand, Microsoft Word, Notepad and One Note. Don't ask - I love note taking and can't make up my mind with which program :D
At the end of the day - I'm doing what's best for me and my system isn't going to work for another person. So that's how I set my solo sessions up so far. This will change the more I go along.

So far, I've been keeping and using notes on OneNote just for short-hand situations plus a scratch pad IRL. Dice rolls are either done online or IRL. All encounters are run through DND Beyond and I track manually regarding hit points loss. Big thing through the encounters I found tricky was not looking at the enemy stats or pre-emptively pulling up stats of potential enemies then metagaming. I want to be somewhat surprised. Later on as Mable levels up - I might do more. I also have a couple of other characters prepped that I've always wanted to play but never got a chance to so I thought for this run through it should be fine.
Since the Solo Run-Through, I'm doing is "Domestic D&D" (Thanks Ginny Di), I'm waiting to purchase the PDF for "The Advneturer's Domestic Handbook" to add more to these sessions. Will I level up to the point that in the future if any adventurers pass through Rosemont they meet my DMPCs? I don't know. For now, there's been a lot of unanticipated world-building that I didn't want to think about but then started doing while playing. So that has been fun figuring out as I go along.
We'll see what happens. I might get bored once in a while and just add things from Adventure Sourcebooks I haven't had the leisure or pleasure of exploring. I have a lot of material to work with. Will keep posted.
